In response to opportunities in today’s competitive market place DMS has invested in the latest laser
processing equipment and have installed the LVD HELIUS 2513
This latest generation of cutting machines uses a high-powered CO2 laser as a cutting
tool to give high accuracy, quality
and with cost effective performance.
DMS can offer a faster, more complete, and a cost-effective service, backed up by
a reputation for quality, reliability and integrity.
Many of our customers prefer to use a single source and DMS can provide
innovative laser technology services backed up by expertise in a comprehensive
range of allied skills, these include fabrication, sheet metal work, welding,
machining and complete sub assembly production.
We offer the highest quality profiles, coupled with excellent quality control
during all phases of the order procurement cycle.
Manufacturers and engineers can benefit from the highly finished dross free
cut surface, which requires little or no finishing prior to fabrication or
assembly.
Manufacturers, material stockists and suppliers can enjoy the benefits of the
laser process without high capital investment in equipment or a skilled work
force.
With our flexible and adaptable approach we can offer a solution to your profiling requirements.
Accurate and intricate shapes can be cut in a wide variety of materials
eliminating the need for machining drilling and dressing.
Laser cutting is faster than traditional profiling and will often be
competitive on cost alone.
The Laser produces a highly finished cut surface, generally no further work
is required.
From one off prototypes to production quantities lead times are reduced and
employing computer control eliminates expensive tooling costs.
Dimensions can be met to within a tolerance on 0.1mm exact reproductions can
be guaranteed.
Virtually no distortion is caused due to low heat input.
Pre-formed components, box sections and tube can be cut.
Sophisticated computer software allows complex profiles to be laser cut from
a variety of customer inputs, a hand drawn sketch, detailed engineering drawing,
scanned images or DXF files.
Retention of customer drawing files facilitates cost effective design changes
and repeatability.
The Helius is a three axis machine, a characteristic of which is the long
travel of the vertical Z axis which is essential for the cutting of pre-formed
components, sections, channels etc.
This machine uses a laser sensor for flexible referencing by non contact
scanning, after the measurement of fixed points the control calculates the
position of the item relative to the machine itself, internal translation and
rotation by the control system insures that the machine co-ordinates correspond
with those of the plate.
The laser sensor is particularly useful for picking up on or locating of pre
punched references and datum points.
The Fanuc 16LB CNC control is one of the most advanced systems available this
guarantees perfect reproduction of programmed contours even on sharp edges or
acute angles at high speed.
Most finishes can be laser marked with names, part numbers, serial numbers or
logos the marking is clear, burr free and permanent the process causes no
mechanical deformation of the work piece and uneven or inaccessible surfaces can
be marked.
